Our Mission
At D Sophia's Family Services, we are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for homeless individuals in our community. We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home and we work tirelessly to make that a reality.
Our Services
- Heart Safety Education for Youth & Schools
We deliver in-school workshops and assemblies that teach students, athletes, teachers, and coaches how to recognize early warning signs of heart conditions, understand the importance of CPR and AEDs (automated external defibrillators), and take proactive steps to protect their health.
- Advocacy & Awareness Campaigns
Through Deanna’s work as a National Youth Heart Ambassador for the American Heart Association, we lead outreach efforts that spotlight youth heart issues, push for cardiac screenings, and advocate for more accessible emergency response tools in schools and athletic facilities.
- CPR & AED Training Referrals
We partner with certified providers to refer families and school staff for training in CPR and AED usage, empowering individuals with the knowledge to respond effectively in a crisis.
- Comfort & Support for Youth With Heart Devices
For children and teens undergoing treatment with pacemakers or ICDs, we offer emotional support resources, peer connections, and custom comfort items such as handmade clothing and care packages to uplift their spirits during recovery.
- Educational Resource Guides
We distribute easy-to-understand brochures, literature, and digital guides that explain heart disease prevention, stroke symptoms, warning signs of cardiac arrest, and steps to take in an emergency.
Our Programs
Our Impact
At D Sophia’s Family Services, our impact is measured in lives touched, youth empowered, and communities made safer through heart health education. What began as one courageous teen’s recovery journey has grown into a movement that empowers others with the knowledge that saved her life.
Since our founding, we’ve:
- Educated over 4,000 students in Central Florida on heart health, CPR awareness, and the signs of cardiac arrest through materials, in-school presentations and youth outreach events.
- Delivered hundreds of custom-made, cozy care items to medically vulnerable and unhoused youth—bringing warmth, dignity, and hope to those facing hardship.
- Shared life-saving resources with athletic programs, parents, and school officials to promote early detection, access to AEDs, and emergency response readiness.
- Raised awareness across digital platforms and in person as Deanna travels as a speaker, American Heart Association Youth Ambassador, and Miss Saint Cloud Florida Teen USA.
- Built partnerships with police departments, schools, and health systems to ensure our message reaches those who need it most—especially in underserved areas.
